Drew Gaffney and family
Drew Gaffney is all smiles after receiving both the Erling and Fran Willadson Scholarship and the brand new NOW Scholarship. Jerry and Cathie (Saxhaug) Anderson gave $50,000 to create the NOW to provide workplace education and training for people wishing to live and work in the great Up-North. Congratulations Drew!

The Greater Itasca NOW (Northland Opportunity Scholarship) Educational Grant, brand new for 2014, was made possible by Jerry and Cathie (Saxhaug) Anderson. They provided an immediate $50,000 to encourage workforce training and education in local jobs. Thank you Jerry and Cathie!
There was lots of great, handmade, catered food following the ceremony. AAUW was well represented.

Community Foundation board member Mary Jo Gibbons with Sawyer Passig and his little brother Hayden. A Hill City graduate, Sawyer received three scholarships; Greater Itasca VoTech/Community College Scholarship, Hill City Community Scholarship, and the coveted Greater Itasca NOW Award (Northland Opportunity Works).

Sarah Patton and her parents (on the right) sit down with Community Foundation board member Chris Deadrick. Starting her masters program this fall, Sarah received the Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital Volunteer Services Scholarship and the Greater Itasca STEM Scholarship.
Abby Jewett received the Grand Rapids State Bank Financial Focus Scholarship. Jewett will be attending the University of St. Thomas to study Actuarial Science.
